What’s new at British boarding school Cobham Hall?
Having known this small British boarding school for many years as a girls’ school, its transition to become co-educational from September 2025 is big news. In other news, Cobham Hall has also just launched a pioneering Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) centre for students aged 11 to 16, set within the beautiful grounds of its historic estate in North Kent.
Developed in partnership with the Mill Hill Education Group and Chiltern Way Academy Trust, Bligh House provides a therapeutic environment, blending the Trust’s specialised teaching methodologies with the values of independent schooling. Students benefit from a tranquil learning space equipped with modern educational resources, and a range of exceptional facilities including sensory rooms, quiet areas, a swimming pool, a sports hall, and extensive, peaceful outdoor spaces.
Offering world-class education and support for students with autism, the school has small classes, personalised and holistic support from specialist staff, and an emphasis on developing life skills. Alongside their academic journey, students will develop critical self-management skills, independence, and self-confidence, with an overarching aim to prepare them for fulfilling lives.
A phased intake has just begun with up to 10 students initially, the intention being to gradually reach a capacity of 50, ensuring a carefully managed and smooth experience for all involved.
If your child would benefit from the nurturing environment of a small British boarding school like Cobham Hall, or has Special Educational Needs that could be met by Bligh House, please get in touch for support with securing them a place.
