Our team

Our team works together to give you the best possible advice when choosing a school for your child.

Gina Dickinson is our principal consultant and will most probably be your first point of contact. The rest of the team work to support Gina in doing what she does best – finding the right British boarding school for your child.

Schooled in the UK and a graduate of the University of Cambridge, Gina has 20 years of professional experience in Educational Consulting and British Independent Education, during which time she has developed strong relationships with leading UK schools, including working for a time in an English boarding school.

Gina lived and worked abroad for many years, and now based back home in England she has plenty of first-hand experience to draw on when helping families living overseas, or in the UK, choose the best school for their children.

Our team in their own words...

  • Gina

Having been through the English school system myself, I was fortunate enough to experience the benefits of British schooling from a personal perspective. Now as the mother of two children I know from first-hand experience the importance of choosing the right school for one’s child.

After graduating from the University of Cambridge in German Literature and History, I moved to Germany where I gained many years of experience as an Educational Consultant, advising German parents considering British private schools. I then returned to England and took up the position of Marketing Manager at a boarding school in Oxford, before moving back into the field of School Consulting having had a family of my own.

My background means that I have an understanding of the aspirations and needs of parents and their children, and equally have valuable personal and professional experience of life in an English school. I can thus act as a bridge between families abroad and UK boarding schools, marrying the needs of individual students with British schools to enable them to develop to the best of their abilities.

With my home in the heart of Britain I am close at hand should my clients have any concerns or require further advice during their child's time at boarding school in the UK.

Together I am confident that we will find the right British school for your child.

My school experience was very similar to Gina’s as we were in the same class in the same school in North Yorkshire! Following a degree in Microbiology from the University of Nottingham, and quite a lot of travelling, I moved to London where I qualified as a Chartered Accountant, before moving into industry for a number of years where I gained a further qualification as a Chartered Corporate Treasurer.

Gina and I travelled together in Africa for a year before we settled down, got married and had two wonderful children. In 2012, three years after we founded Dickinson School Consulting, I joined the business full time.

My role at Dickinson School Consulting is mostly behind the scenes, using my financial and commercial experience to make sure the business runs smoothly, and by providing general support to Gina so she can concentrate on doing what she does best – finding the most suitable boarding school for your child, whether in England, Scotland or Wales.

  • Claire

Growing up in the Cotswolds in the heart of England I was fortunate enough to experience both the state and independent sectors during the course of my education.

After graduating in Modern Languages and European Studies from Southampton University I worked as a Project Manager in the translation industry for many years, but not before gaining experience in other roles, most notably at the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education, and at Oxfam.

My role at Dickinson School Consulting involves liaising with our partner schools to keep on top of developments, sharing their updates as well as more general British education news via our website and social media channels; organising visits to schools for prospective students, and providing general support to Gina so she can concentrate on what she does best – finding the right British boarding school for your child.

  • Amanda

I grew up in the West Midlands, experiencing school life both in a larger secondary school and in a smaller, traditional Sixth Form college. After studying for a degree in Translation Studies at Sheffield University I moved to Oxfordshire and began working as a multi-lingual project manager.

Although my academic education has focused on Modern Languages I have always been passionate about music and dance, which I have enjoyed throughout my life as extracurricular activities. I love seeing so much support for The Arts in British schools.

My role at Dickinson School Consulting is to offer support to Gina and the rest of the team, keeping information on the website up-to-date and helping with information for prospective students.
