Prep School options
Gresham’s, a British boarding school on England’s east coast, recently sent us a link to their new video, which provides an insight into boarding life at their prep school. It’s well worth taking a couple of minutes to watch and it got us thinking it would be good to let you know more about a few of the other prep schools we work with.
As the name suggests, preparatory schools exist to prepare children for their senior education. Some, like Gresham’s, are linked to senior schools, so the expectation is that children will progress from one to the other. Other examples of similar schools would be Casterton, which is linked to Sedbergh School in Cumbria, and Millfield in Somerset. Each has its own strengths: Casterton’s USP is its location in the beautiful Lake District, with all the opportunities that presents, while Millfield is particularly well known for its sporting excellence.
We work with a number of schools which are purely prep too. All Hallows Preparatory School, also in Somerset, aims to provide a secure, happy and inclusive community, based on the teachings of the Catholic faith. Aysgarth in North Yorkshire is an all-boys boarding prep school, focused on preparing boys for entry into selective schools such as Eton, Harrow, Winchester and Radley.
In Sussex, in south east England, we can recommend two schools. St Andrew’s Prep strives to provide an all-round education that will teach pupils the joy of learning and the importance of values, responsibilities and community, while Windlesham House School has a caring, family atmosphere, in which children of all academic abilities are given the opportunity to reach their personal potential in a wide range of subjects and activities.
This is just a small selection of the British prep boarding schools we work with, so if you’re considering one for your child, please contact us to find out more.
