As it is one of the most traditional British boarding schools we work with, the fact that there will be girls’ 6th Form boarding at Winchester College from 2026 is big news!
Historically a boys’ full boarding school, with that history stretching back over 600+ years, College has admitted a few day students in recent years, including some girls in Sixth Form. From next September two boarding houses will provide a home from home for girls wishing to complete their secondary education at this prestigious school.
Winchester College strives to create an environment that celebrates intellectual curiosity and encourages debate, helping scholarship to thrive. Opening up its Sixth Form to a greater number of girls and enabling them to board is another example of how our British boarding schools combine modernity with tradition.
