Gina’s visit to Wells Cathedral School

From Oxford, Gina headed south west to Somerset, starting in Wells. This historic city’s Cathedral School has long been renowned for its music offering, with a long tradition of educating the choristers.

A new performance space has recently been added to the school’s impressive facilities and it was opened by alumnus Michael Eavis CBE, the founder of Glastonbury Festival! Musicians at the school benefit from an array of practice rooms, and from the experience and guidance of extremely talented and inspiring teachers. The students’ timetables are individually tailored, so there is ample time for practice.

Wells Cathedral is also very well set up for Art, Drama and Sport, and the Sixth Formers benefit from a lovely Sixth Form Centre. The School has recently introduced a successful one-year GCSE course with English as a Foreign Language support for its overseas pupils.
