Do EU students need an ETA to attend a UK boarding school?
What is an ETA?
The United Kingdom has introduced the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system as a mandatory entry requirement for visitors from certain countries.
Needed by individuals travelling to the UK from countries which do not require a visa (e.g., nationals of the EU, US, Canada etc.) for short-term study, tourism, business, or transiting through the UK, this electronic pre-authorisation allows them to enter the country.
The ETA is valid for two years or, if a passport is due to expire before the two years, until the expiry date. The ETA allows multiple entries to the UK, with each stay limited to up to six months.
