Just after National Boarding Week, here’s a quick round up of places to read more about being a boarder in a British boarding school.

Our own website offers an overview of the benefits of boarding here in the UK, while almost all the schools have a page outlining their provision. Here are a few you might find interesting.

Millfield School has a very good section on its website, including information about boarding in general, as well as focusing on what happens during evenings and weekends, and its provision for international boarders. Millfield certainly isn’t unique in its aim of promoting inter-cultural awareness and understanding, but we love that this is backed by having an International Students’ Association for representation and to enrich the school by drawing upon the cultural diversity within the student population.

Ardingly College is another that has an informative page describing its overall provision and the structure of evenings and weekends, as well as quotes from its families and a report.

Lancing College also offers a wealth of information on its boarding page and again is not unique in its assertion that boarders talk about enjoying being part of a community, building friendships, learning to be independent and being able to access a wide range of opportunities.

If you are considering boarding school in England, Scotland or Wales for your child(ren), book a call with Gina, so she can tell you more about the above or indeed any of the 200 other schools we work with.
