The Kent College boarding community is thriving and welcoming where girls make friendships across year groups and cultures. Dedicated teams of staff who live on-site with their families run the 2 boarding houses; girls share rooms until the final year when the school aims to provide single study bedrooms. Weekends and evenings are busy and activities are plentiful; amongst many others the girls enjoy Harry Potter evenings, charity balls, trips to London and ice skating.

Kent College’s sports department is impressive with outstanding new facilities to include a second sports hall and fitness suite to cater for high demand, and a new all-weather pitch from Auumn 2016. Athletics and swimming are to an international standard and competitive success is achieved across all sports, yet the approach is inclusive with choice for all abilities. Rugby, dance, martial arts and yoga are offered as extra-curricular activities.

Creative arts

Whole school productions such as Carousel and Evita are held twice a year in the refurbished 300 seat Countess of Wessex theatre, alongside smaller set-piece productions in the studio theatre. The girls produce excellent work in the Contemporary Arts Centre where screen printing, photography, textiles and costume design are very popular. The purpose built Music Centre includes a drum studio and Mac suite, and outside the classroom there is a range of orchestras, choirs and ensembles to join.
