Ackworth School Football Academy

Recently we’ve had exciting news from Ackworth School, which from September 2018 will be offering a two-year, elite football development programme for boys and girls in its 6th form.

The Academy will be run by Jamie Fullarton, a former English Premier League footballer, now a qualified UEFA Pro license coach. It will be an integral part of the school, with members taking three A Level subjects and maintaining involvement in the School’s co-curricular programme, alongside the coaching programme that will develop players technically, tactically, physically, mentally and socially, all within the School’s ethos.

A competitive games programme, including at least two matches per term against professional football clubs, will provide players with the opportunity to match their skills against high-calibre opposition. With over 600,000 people currently working in football in the UK, the School recognises there is a variety of careers within the industry, so it will also run two workshops per term for students to experience other options, including Sports Science, Recruitment, Analysis, Coaching and Refereeing.

The objective of the programme is to empower students to be the best they can be in everything they do in a safe, enjoyable learning environment and, at the end of the two-year programme, the School will help facilitate students to continue playing football during their further education through a Soccer Scholarship at a USA College.

We think this is a fantastic addition to this British boarding school’s offering and would welcome the opportunity to assist you if you’d like to investigate the possibility of adding your budding footballer to the Academy. Please contact us to find out more.
